About Me
Zhang Yong, courtesy name Dayong, art name Hanyu. A hermit from Guandong and the master of Jingyuan Pavilion. Born in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia in 1977, he began learning inside painting at age 10. He studied under Mr. Li Guangli and Mr. Wang Guanyu. In calligraphy and micro-carving, he was a student of Mr. Yin Haijin. In Buddhist studies, he learned from Master Guoqing of Putong Temple and delved into Zen philosophy. Starting in 2000, he founded an inside painting school, building many positive connections and training numerous talents in the field.
In 2005, crystal was extensively introduced as the primary medium for inside painting. Drawing on a lifetime of expertise, they pioneered the creation of imagery-based inside painting.
Imagery Inside Painting
Ink and Color in Crystal: An art form that uses ink, color, lines, and 3D perspective within crystal to express an artist's abstract vision. These works blend the spirit of the creator with the essence of nature, evolving into dynamic, internally charged symbolic imagery. Notable masters of this style in oil painting include Zao Wou-Ki, Chu Teh-Chun, Wu Guanzhong, and others.
Zhang Dayong's art embodies the poetic essence of the East, offering a compelling interpretation of contemporary artistic currents. Grounded in classical Chinese scholarship, his work resonates with collectors and invites viewers to reconnect with Eastern literary traditions. His "imagery" is neither purely representational nor entirely abstract; it serves as a moral mirror, using painting to express aspirations and emotions. With the subtle brilliance of nature's unspoken wisdom, Zhang reveals the myriad forms of the natural world within the human heart.
Design Philosophy
Yixiang Neipainting embodies profound meaning and the ultimate expression of spiritual pursuit.
His work evokes an artistic realm of "formless vastness, embracing the energy of heaven and earth, echoing the boundlessness of the cosmos." It is a fusion of objective imagery and subjective spirit, imbued with meaning and Eastern philosophical reflection. Using color, ink wash, and crystal as his medium, he creates intricate reverse paintings that convey these sensations through touch and vision.
Intentional imagery painting is an art form that fuses traditional Chinese philosophy and aesthetic spirit with the unique properties of crystal. While adhering to the principles of traditional Chinese painting, it embodies the Eastern cultural core of "intentional imagery." Its central pursuit is the spiritual realm of "unity between heaven and humanity" and "the mind wandering beyond material things." Through subjective refinement of natural forms and careful composition—capturing intricate details while embracing vast expansiveness—it conveys artistic conception through internal painting techniques.
