Work Description
Inspired by Mi-style cloud-and-mountain painting, this vessel uses splashed-ink techniques to depict the misty, rain-soaked landscapes of Jiangnan. Mountains emerge faintly through swirling clouds, while trees appear as ghostly silhouettes, creating a poetic space filled with the ethereal haze of traditional ink wash.
Artist Statement
Mi Fu and his son pioneered a new realm in Chinese landscape painting with their cloud-and-mist ink play. Applying the nuances of ink wash—density, dryness, and moisture—in interior painting represents a profound exploration of traditional brushwork and spirit.
